Golden Rock Pagoda was built on large egg-shaped rock at an altitude of 1.100m compared to sea level. Seen from afar, many tourists inevitably worry because rocks can fall down at any time.
Golden Rock temple or pagoda Kyaikhtiyo is one of the oldest pagoda in Myanmar and the most famous. The temple is located in the town of Kyaikhtiyo, Thaton district.

The temple has a very special position as is protruding out of the rock. Part of rocks jutting out front that many people think it could fall at any time. In the pilgrimage season from November to March each year, the believers in this ceremony, meditation, chanting and lit candles around. Particularly the male devotees are allowed to step over the railing, gold leaf glued to the rock. This is the temple Kyaikhtiyo.

Despite the special position, is protruding from above, but the temple still standing throughout the last hundred years wearing a storm. Below the foothills looking upwards, pilgrims only see rocks protruding crests. But to reach the top, you will see panoramic architectural ensemble out front.

The credit for that, visit the temple regularly 3 times in 1 year will receive the blessings and wealth. To reach the top, visitors must pass 20 rest areas with shops catering and drinks. However, the scenery spectacular and spacious space around making people forget about tired pilgrims.
