The villagers in remote rural areas of eastern India has killed five women accused of witchcraft, in the latest incident shocked the public opinion of this country.
Jharkhand State Police say a group of people who pull the woman out of the house and then beat them to death on the night of 7/8 in areas from state capital Ranchi is about 30km.
Police said 24 people were arrested participation this brutal assault, while the victims are women aged 45 to 50.
In many parts of rural India, people still believe in witchcraft colored game superstition.
According to AFP, in many similar cases, the woman was convicted of witchcraft stripped, burnt alive or beheaded.
Some states like Jharkhand had to make special laws to prevent people killing people convicted of witchcraft. /.
